"I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the College of St. Joseph in 2015. I have worked as a mental health clinician for 12 years in community, forensic, and emergency room settings. Utilizing individualized treatment strategies, I work collaboratively with clients to assist them with reaching their specific goals.
I have specialized training in grief counseling, PTSD and trauma, emotional dysregulation, and personality disorders. I am also certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT helps individuals learn to manage overwhelming emotions and cope with them more effectively by identifying the problematic patterns that have fostered unwanted consequences, such as addiction, compulsion, behavioral problems, and interpersonal/relationship problems with one’s self and with others. Once the problematic patterns have been identified, clients then learn and practice specific skills to achieve positive and lasting changes that will reduce overwhelming emotions of stress, anxiety, and depression and foster healthier relationships.
