I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Arts in Therapy with a minor in psychology from Russell Sage College and completed internships working with older adults in the nursing home setting and with youth in a residential facility. I completed my Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from Albertus Magnus College. During graduate school I worked in a hospice facility and in an outpatient setting, providing art therapy and counseling to clients and their families. I completed my graduate research thesis on learning an art skill to create hope in older adults with a population at a nursing home and assisted living facility.

In the last year I have worked in a community-based services sexual abuse prevention program with children, adolescents, and their families. I have experience working with clients using trauma-informed care. I use art therapy as a way to communicate with my clients and promote healing. Art therapy can be used to improve cognitive and sensorimotor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress. My number one goal as a therapist is to ensure that my clients feel safe and supported. Art therapy blended with counseling can facilitate healing and personal growth.
